- OTHER IMPORTANT NEWSPosted on: 2009-02-12Again, thank you Betty Anderson for your community updates.
As you have probably read in the Record, a meeting is scheduled for this coming Thursday, February 12th from 5-8 at the Jurupa Community Services District Offices on Harrel St. to look over the proposed routes for the 230 kV lines from Riverside through Jurupa. The original proposal had a route that went through Riverside and crossed the Santa Ana River at Market St., then up to the Edison facility in Colton. This is the preferred route as far as I am concerned, but it has apparently been ruled out.
The routes up Van Buren and Bain were disputed the last time this issue came up by both the Union Pacific Railroad and the School District because of the close proximity to the schools and the use of the Railroad right of way.
As you are probably all aware, the Jurupa Community Services District, the Jurupa Area Parks and Recreation District and the Jurupa Unified School District all made resolutions and voted unanimously, by all tree boards to oppose these lines through Jurupa. These lines will not benefit Jurupa residents at all. They are only for the city of Riverside.
If anyone is confused about how big these towers are, there is one right outside the front door of the JCSD office. Here is a link to the proposed map.
Betty Anderson - Attention to families with ChildrenPosted on: 2010-01-27Parents of Sky Country:
As a mother, I make sure I know who lives near my children. For this reason, I check meganslaw.ca.gov in order to be aware of any potential dangers. I recently found this sex offender/child predator and many others online and I felt a duty to inform parents in our community. This child molestor is new in our community:

- PROPOSALS FOR OUR SURROUNDING OPEN LAND....Posted on: 2009-02-12Thank you Betty Anderson for this important update for our community.
This notice is somewhat frustrating and disappointing. Even though this is the proposed density since the I-15 Specific Plan was created (ironically the day after the last cityhood effort failed), we can insist on a better density level next to Sky Country.
This plan calls for two to five homes per acre next to Sky Country. I believe most residents with animals would want less density next to Sky Country than what is proposed. In addition, the e-mails that I sent Donna Johnston (which I believe you also received), talked about the rest of the phases within that area. The Planning Commissioners look at the total project which as of 2007 did include apartments and condos. We have to let them know from the onset that that should not be part of the total project. This also helps the developer so they can plan their projects more effectively, knowing what is unacceptable ahead of time.
The bottom line is this:
First we have to ask for the density we really want and not what the Specific Plan approved years ago.
Second, we need to have this part of the decision put off until we become a city. If Eastvale becomes a city up to Wineville than they would want the density the Specific Plan has stated. If we become a city than we can call the shots on the density. If they are given that chance on one of their projects than we should be given that chance on this one, since this is the most important out of all.
Betty Anderson
It was mentioned at our last JVIRC General meeting on Tuesday, January 27th, 2009 that there is an item on the upcoming February 4th Planning Commission agenda, item 5.8, which is asking to change the density of Specific Plan No. 266 along the I-15 freeway between Wineville and the I-15. There was also mention of apartments and/or condos going in on this plan. After further research into this matter, it has been found that the density changes being proposed are still within the approved R-1 zoning of 3-5 dwellings per acre for all areas previously designated R-1 on the plan. There is nothing in the proposed agenda item for any increase in density or addition of high-density units at this time. The number of total units is not changing, just trading up or down between specific numbered sections of SP 266. What we must be vigilant about is the designated buffer in the plan between the Sky Country equestrian community and the land usage proposed in Specific Plan 266. This buffer is along Wineville between Limonite and Bellegrave as detailed in the I-15 Corridor Specific Plan.
As new information is discovered it will be brought to your attention and we will continue to do what we can to stay on top of the current plans, future plans, discoveries and other happenings in our Jurupa Valley area and surrounding areas that might affect the community and our future, whether we incorporate or not at this time.
.Jurupa Valley Incorporation Research Committee, here to help keep you informed in the process and more.
Sincerely,
Board of Directors
